The Kwik-Pay award structure allows common leave entitlements to be created for groups of employees, saving the chore of updating leave entitlements for individuals when they change.
You can define any number of different awards. Each award to split into classifications, which are categories of employees within the award. For instance, a clerical award may have different steps for 'under 18', '18 to 20', '20 and over' and 'manager'. There can be any number of steps within each award. Classifications are defined separately.
The pay item factors for each award classification are effective dated, which means that the pay item factor will not be used in any calculations until the first pay date on or after the effective date.
If there is no award pay item factor effective for an employee at a speciifc pay date, the pay item will be calculated using the default factor in the pay item set up form. For example, if the employee is linked to a classification for which there is no award pay item factor defined, or they are being paid for a date prior to the earliest effective date for an award pay item factor for the employees award and classification.
