The Kwik-Pay award structure allows common leave entitlements to be created for groups of employees, saving the chore of updating leave entitlements for individuals when they change.
You can define any number of different awards. Each award to split into classifications, which are categories of employees within the award. For instance, a clerical award may have different classifications for 'under 18', '18 to 20', '20 and over' and 'manager'. There can be any number of classifications within each award. Classifications are defined separately.
The leave entitlements for each classification are effective dated, which means that the leave entitlement will not be used in any calculations until the first pay date on or after the effective date.
For example, if the entitlement is 15 days for employees with less than 5 years service, and 20 days for employees with 5 or more years of service. Create two award leve entitlement records, one with service years set to 4 and entitlement set to 15, and the other with service years set to 99 (or any other high number) and entitlement set to 20.
If an employee has leave entitlements entered in the payee, leave details screen, those entitlements will be used in place of the award leave entitlements.
