When Kwik-Pay creates a new payroll database it is not unencrypted so it is easier for you to extract data using Microsoft Access, Excel and other reporting tools. However, if your payroll database is held on a file server which is accessible by other users, you may prefer to encrypt the Kwik-Pay database to reduce the risk of information being accessed by unauthorised people.
Note that an encrypted Kwik-Pay database cannot be compressed by the backup process in Kwik-Pay and therefore will not fit on a floppy disk.
The password you enter will be requested every time you open the payroll. If you forget the password you will not be able to access the data.
To unencrypt an encrypted Kwik-Pay database, leave the password blank and then click OK.
