A pay item template defines a set of default properties for a type of pay item. It allows a number of properties to be set when the pay item type is selected in the Pay Item Edit screen.
The pay item template screen is similar to the pay item set up screen. Any information selected or entered in the pay item template screen will over-write the corresponding information in the pay item set up, if this template is selected in the pay item set up screen.
When you select a pay item template for edit, or add a new pay item template, the Pay Item Template Edit for is displayed.
