Report Layout Edit

The layout edit screen displays the report layout in a form that allows you to drag and drop report controls to reposition them as well as add new report controls and change the characteristics of existing ones.
To reposition a report control
Move the mouse pointer to anywhere within the control's outline. When the mouse pointer is within the control's outline, the mouse pointer will change to a hand symbol. You can then press the left mouse button to 'grab' the report control, and if you keep the mouse button pressed, the report control will be moved as you move the mouse pointer. When you release the mouse button, the control will be fixed at it's new location.
To resize a report control
Move the mouse pointer to anywhere within the control's outline and click the left mouse button. This will select the report control and display the positioning blocks (little squares at each corner of the control's outline). When you move the mouse pointer over one of the positioning blocks, the mouse pointer will change to a resizing pointer. You can then click the left mouse button and, whilst holding the mouse button pressed, drag the positioning block in any direction. When you release the mouse button, the control will be resized.
To add a report control
Move the mouse pointer so that it points to where you would like the top left corner of the new control. Press the right mouse button. This will display a pop-up menu from which you can select an 'insert' option - this will display a sub menu from which you can select the type of control you would like to add. After you select the type of control you want, an outline of the control will displayed on the report layout. You can then resize or reposition the control if you wish.
To edit a report control's characteristics
Move the mouse pointer to anywhere within the control's outline and click the right mouse button. This will display a pop-up menu from which you can select an 'edit' option. This will then display the report control edit form, with which you can then change any of the control's properties.
To delete a report control
Move the mouse pointer to anywhere within the control's outline and click the right mouse button. This will display a pop-up menu from which you can select an 'delete' option. This will delete the cotnrol.
To resize a report section
Move the mouse pointer to near the edge of the section you wish to resize. The mouse pointer will change to a resizing arrow. You can the press the left mouse button and drag the edge of the section to it's new size.
To edit a report section's characteristics
If you press the right mouse button whilst the mouse pointer is anywhere in the report section, but not over a report control, a pop-up menu will be displayed from which you can select an 'edit' option. This will display the report section edit screen which will allow you to change any of the report section's properties.
